Home Support Worker
About This Program
The Home Support Worker (HSW) Readiness Program is a skills based, employer-aligned pathway designed to prepare participants for real entry-level home-care roles, not exams or academic testing. Delivered by Learnist in partnership with New Circles, the program combines hands-on training, workplace readiness, and recognized micro-credentials registered on CanCred. Participants graduate with the confidence, safety training, and practical skills employers expect from day one. This program reduces barriers to employment by focusing on plain language instruction, applied learning, and job-relevant competencies, making it ideal for learners with limited formal experience who are ready to enter Ontario’s growing home-care Workforce. Graduates leave with recognized credentials, clear job-ready skills, and a strong foundation to begin or continue a career in home and community care.
The HSW program is a free full-time, 6-week program that provides virtual learning and industry connections. The program focuses on social emotional skills development, technical skills, along with home support sector and basic entrepreneurial skills. Preliminary training includes free First Aid and CPR training.
