FAQ - GLOW
Thank you to all our outstanding clothing donors. You have been so incredibly generous with your donations that our team at GLOW is going to need some time to catch up on all the tremendous donations we have received.
So, for now, we are requesting only the following items to be dropped off:
Men’s clothes
Boy’s clothes (ages 2 to 17)
Shoes for all genders
1. Where is your drop off location?
New Circles address is 161 Bartley Drive. Please bring clothing donations to our side entrance on Hobson Ave and ring the bell. Our drop off times are:
Monday to Friday: 9AM to 4:45PM
Our team is more than happy to help you unload your donations.
2. Can you pick up from my house?
We wish we had the capability to pick up directly from your home, but unfortunately, we do not own large trucks. For any questions regarding a donation, please call 416-422-2591 ext 207, or email donate2glow@newcircles.ca.
3. Do I have to make an appointment to drop off donations?
Absolutely not! Please drop off your items at the times listed above. If you participated in a clothing drive and have 25 or more large bags of items, please call 416-422-2591 ext 207, or email donate2glow@newcircles.ca so that our team of volunteers is ready to help you unload!
4. How should I prepare/package my clothing donations?
New Circles requests that you package your clean items in clear plastic bags. Please ensure that items are not delivered in boxes, bins or suitcases, and clothing or accessories are not placed on hangers. Clearly label bags with the size and type of clothing. For example: Women Size 6-8, Boys Size 4-6. Please package and label all winter outerwear/boots separately from clothing.
5. Do you accept household items?
Unfortunately, we do not have the space to accept items such as household appliances, electronics, toys, books, or linens. There are many local charities who do accept these items. Check on-line for the one closest to you.
6. Who does the clothing go to?
All donated clothing and accessories are free for our equity-deserving clients. We are also pleased to partner with shelters within the community and provide items for those in emergency need and refugees across the city. Your donation goes a long way!
7. When do you accept spring/summer clothing and fall/winter clothing?
Drop off items relevant to the Spring and Summer months any time between March 1st and August 31st, and all items relevant to the Fall and Winter months between September 1st and February 28th.
Starting in September, New Circles clients are in need of winter coats, snowsuits, gloves, scarves and winter boots. Just prior to back-to-school, running shoes for children is always appreciated!
8. What is the closest intersection?
The closest intersection to New Circles is Eglinton and Bermondsey, or Victoria Park and O’Connor.
9. Do you provide tax receipts?
New Circles will provide a letter of acknowledgement to retailers for their donation purposes. Donated items must have an original, attached sales tag. For any questions regarding letters of acknowledgement, call 416-422-2591 ext 209 or email donate2glow@newcircles.ca.
