Empowering Newcomer Women
Our social programs are geared towards newcomer women who want a welcoming space to make new friends, improve their English skills, learn about services in the area, and explore Toronto.
The Friendship Circle
The Friendship Circle is a free program that provides a safe and supportive space for women to connect and exchange information about culture and customs. Led by a dynamic team of volunteers, participants meet to practice language skills, socialize, and develop connections in a comfortable environment. And there are always tea and sweets on hand. Sometimes, the group goes on fun community trips, such as the Royal Ontario Museum, CN Tower, Art Gallery of Ontario and movies. (TTC tokens are provided to participants.)
The Friendship Circle meets once a week on Tuesdays from 10 am to 12 pm from September to June. New members are welcome to join any time during the year.

Language Tutoring for Women
Our free tutoring program is the perfect opportunity for women looking to improve their English language skills. Tutoring can help students prepare for Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC) classes, Adult High School, college programs or improve general proficiency. We welcome women at any level of English. Volunteer tutors work one-on-one with students to create a personalized experience to meet individual goals. Tutoring is available from September to June.
The sessions take place once per week and TTC tokens are provided to cover transportation. All books, materials and off-site activities are provided by New Circles.
Please contact us at email@example.com or call 416-422-2591.
When classes are not in session, the Computer Café is a comfortable space to access computers with internet, printing facilities, and community resources. There is a play area for children with toys and books to read and take home. The Cafe is open during New Circles’ operating hours.
