Support the Prom Boutique...And Be Part of Something Special!

Prom is a special experience that marks a major transition in many young people’s lives – and we need your help to ensure youth facing economic barriers can participate fully in this milestone event.

Our Prom Boutique is an annual shopping event that helps teens get a great prom outfit at no cost. This May, youth from across the city will come to New Circles to shop for dresses, suits, footwear and accessories, and we’re in need of donations to stock the boutique with modern, fashionable formal wear.

This year, we’re offering extended hours to serve the more than 500 teens who visit the Boutique. In addition to the two regular shopping days on Saturday, May 6 and Sunday, May 7, we will also have a designated Prom section in GLOW until May 31. Teens who can’t make the Prom Boutique weekend can book an appointment to shop in GLOW during this time.

The best way to get involved is to organize a Prom Drive with your school, church group, service club or other community organization. We’ve got a handy toolkit that outlines the steps for organizing a drive, including promoting your drive and collecting donations. Sign up by Friday, March 3 by contacting Poppy Harpula at or 416-422-2591 ext. 207 and start collecting!

If you’re not able to organize a drive, you can always donate new or gently-used items directly to New Circles at one of our eight city-wide drop-off locations. We’re looking for:

  • New or lightly-worn dresses
  • Slim-fit suits, shirts and pants
  • Ties and accessories
  • Evening bags and jewelry
  • Shoes
  • New makeup

Another way to get involved is to donate funds. It doesn’t take much to help – only $50 will outfit a teen from head to toe. Click here to donate online, and don’t forget to choose “2017 Prom Boutique” from the drop-down menu below “Select the fund your donation will support.”
