A Visit to the Textile Museum of Canada

By: Adeena Afridi, LIST Student

On Thursday, July 28,  I went to The Textile Museum of Canada with my classmates in the Leaders in Service Training program. What a jewel we have, hidden away in downtown Toronto, and what a pleasure it was to see all the brilliant colors and textures of the collection. After going there, we came to know that The Textile Museum of Canada (TMC) is the only museum in Canada that explores ideas and builds cultural understanding through the universally relevant media of textiles. Moreover, the Museum’s permanent collection spans nearly 2,000 years and consists of more than 13,000 artifacts. I am glad that I got this opportunity to visit this museum because of the LIST program and got the chance to explore this incredible place and gain knowledge about the different cultures and traditions of this world.
